BIO

Graduated in Social Work from the Higher School of Social Work of Lisbon.

  • Held the position of President of the Board of Directors of Casa Pia de Lisboa, IP.
  • Served on the Board of Directors of the Institute of Social Security – responsible for Social Action at the national level.
    • Coordinated the National Commission for the Social Integration Income.
    • Represented the country in the Social Protection Committee – European Commission.
    • Coordinated the 2nd National Action Plan for Inclusion (PNAI).
    • Served on the National Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People at Risk.
  • Performed duties as manager of Axis 5 – Social Development of the Employment, Training and Social Development Program – POEFDS (QCA III).
  • Held the position of Director General of Social Action at the Ministry of Labour and Solidarity for 9 years.
  • Was a consultant for the EEC in the monitoring and evaluation, in Portugal, of projects under the II European Programme to Combat Poverty and the Poverty III Programme.
  • Held the position of National Commissioner of the Programme to Combat Poverty.
  • Served on the Board of Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, where she held the position of Deputy to the Provider in the area of Social Action.
  • Served as Deputy to the Civil Governor of Setúbal and, in that role, coordinated the Emergency Plan for the District of Setúbal.
  • Taught at the Institute of Social Work in Luanda – Angola – while also coordinating the Social Services of a private company.
  • Carried out direct action at the Regional Centre for Social Security of Setúbal, in the field of local-based Social Action.
  • President of the Board of EAPN Portugal.
  • President of the Board of the Santa Paula Frassinetti Association (former students of the Dorotheans).
  • President of the Board of the Association of Social Work Professionals from 2015 to 2018.
  • Member of the Board of Trustees of the Montepio Foundation.
  • Member of the Advisory Council of the program “Lisbon, City of All Ages.”
  • Coordinator of the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations / 2012 on a voluntary basis.
